Abeokuta North - In a fervent call to action, Alhaji Ismail Adebayo Yisa OMOADE, A Chieftain in All Progressives Congress APC has urged Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the ongoing voter registration process launched by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on August 18, 2025. With the upcoming elections on the horizon, Yisa emphasizes that active participation in this critical democratic exercise is essential for ensuring that the voices of the people are heard.

“Young or old, every eligible Nigerian has a duty to ensure their vote counts,” Yisa stated during a community outreach event in Abeokuta North. “The future of our community and nation depends on our collective decision-making. It is imperative that every citizen, especially the youth, comes out to register and secure their voter’s card. This is the only way to guarantee that your conscience is represented in the elections.”

The INEC has set the eligibility criteria for voter registration at 18 years of age and requires individuals to be Nigerian citizens. Yisa emphasized the importance of meeting these criteria as a gateway to participating in the democratic process. He reminded residents that registration can be done at designated centers across the region and that every eligible voter should prioritize making their voices heard.

“In Nigeria today, voting is not conducted on social media platforms. The real power lies in your hands, and it starts with acquiring a voter’s card,” he said. “Don’t let this opportunity slip away. Your vote is your power, and it is the single most important way to influence the future direction of our governance and policy-making.”

Yisa’s campaign focuses not only on voter registration but also on educating the public about the significance of each vote. He believes that an informed electorate is vital for the health of the nation’s democracy. As part of his initiative, he has organized workshops and distribution of informational materials to help residents understand the voting process and the impact their votes can have on their community.

The aspirant also called upon community leaders, youth organizations, and civil society groups to join him in advocating for higher voter turnout and participation in the upcoming elections. “Let us work together to ensure that every voice is heard. United, we can drive change and promote accountability in our elected officials,” Yisa concluded.

As the registration period continues, it is vital for Nigerians to take action now. By registering to vote and participating in elections, they will have the power to shape the future of their community, ensuring that it reflects their hopes, aspirations, and needs.
