Ewekoro Council Boss Receives NCWS Delegates on a Courtesy Visit
Ewekoro, 3rd of February – In a significant gesture of collaboration and support for women's empowerment, the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government Area, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, popularly known as Eskay, warmly welcomed delegates from the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Ewekoro Local Government Chapter, during a courtesy visit held at his office.
The visit, which took place on 31st of January 2025, was marked by expressions of appreciation from the Acting President of NCWS, Mrs. Ekundayo. She praised Hon. Adesina for his unwavering commitment to advancing women’s empowerment and his proactive initiatives aimed at fostering community development. Mrs. Ekundayo highlighted the importance of inclusive governance and expressed confidence in the positive impact of Hon. Adesina's leadership on the lives of women in the community.
“We are grateful for the efforts you have made in promoting initiatives that empower women and uplift our community,” Mrs. Ekundayo stated. “Your leadership has inspired many, and we pray for your continued success as you serve Ewekoro.”
In response, Hon. Adesina reaffirmed his dedication to supporting women’s empowerment and ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also integrated into the local governance framework. He emphasized that a collaborative approach is essential for addressing the unique challenges faced by women in the community.
“I am committed to ensuring that women are actively involved in decision-making processes and that their concerns are prioritized,” Hon. Adesina said. “Together, we can create a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
The meeting also saw the presence of key local government officials, including Vice-chairman Alhaja Abisola Nuratu Aliyu, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Aladeselu Adewale, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) Mrs. AA Solomon, Treasurer Alhaja Akinola, and Director of Community Department Mrs. Olakanmi, among others. Their presence underscored the collective effort of the local government in championing women’s rights and community development.
As the visit concluded, both the NCWS delegates and Hon. Adesina expressed optimism for future collaborations aimed at further enhancing the status of women in Ewekoro.
