Rotimi Makinde Celebrates Oyetola Adegboyega At 70

A former Federal lawmaker who represented Ife Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Makinde has congratulated the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

Makinde, in a statement issued in Ile-Ife on Sunday eulogized the Minister for his effort towards the development of the country in his with his portfolio as a federal cabinet member.

The Ife born politician further commended Oyetola who was in September 29, 1954 for the “imaginative and bold programs” he initiated during his time as Governor of Osun State as well as his current strides in the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

“Your Excellency, as one of your political mentees, I warmly congratulate you, a consummate politician, and an outstanding Nigerian, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, on the occasion of your 70th birthday anniversary.

“Sir, you are a politician who diligently pursued your goals, becoming one of the most experienced and successful political leader of your generation. With your background in insurance and business administration from the prestigious University of Lagos, with varied experience in labour relations, management and political leadership, your experience approximate grassroot and inter-group relations that spanned decades, an experience that includes Governor of a leading state like Osun which subsequently prepared you for national leadership role as the current Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, all these profoundly reflected how resourceful, meritorious and competent you are.

“Your imaginative and bold programs during your time as the Governor of Osun State and as a serving minister have been a reference point for a generation of the people of Nigeria. Not many Nigerians of your generation have had a visible impact on their community like you sir, you're undoubtedly a trailblazer with many distinctions and milestones.

“You are charismatic, friendly and humble in dispositions, your mentorship in political leadership covers a large number of people. Sir, I humbly join the good people of Osun state and other Nigerians in wishing a worthy statesman and a nationalist a happy birthday, may God grant you sound health with long and may you achieve more in your political engagements for the greater good of our country.
