OMO-ADE Calls for Peaceful Christmas, Urges Motorists to Drive Responsibly
Abeokuta — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Yisa Ismaila Adebayo, popularly known as OMO-ADE, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, harmony, and responsible conduct as Christians across the country prepare to celebrate Christmas on Wednesday, December 25.
In a goodwill message released ahead of the Christmas festivities, OMO-ADE described the season as a period for love, reflection, and unity, stressing the need for citizens to live together peacefully regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences.
According to him, the celebration of Christmas symbolizes hope, sacrifice, and compassion, values which Nigerians must uphold in their daily interactions, especially during the festive period when families and friends come together.
The APC chieftain also issued a strong advisory to motorists and commercial drivers who will be travelling to different parts of the country to celebrate with their loved ones. He urged them to be cautious on the roads, avoid over-speeding, and strictly adhere to traffic rules in order to prevent accidents and loss of lives.
“I want to appeal to all drivers to be mindful of their speed while travelling to their respective destinations. No celebration is worth risking lives. Safety should be our top priority,” he said.
OMO-ADE further encouraged road users to exercise patience, tolerance, and respect for one another, noting that the heavy traffic usually experienced during festive periods requires calmness and cooperation.
He also called on Nigerians to extend kindness to the less privileged, emphasizing that sharing with others and promoting peace within communities would help sustain the true spirit of Christmas.
As the nation prepares for the celebration, the APC stalwart prayed for a peaceful and joyous Christmas for all Nigerians and expressed hope that the season would usher in renewed unity, progress, and prosperity for the country.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a safe, hitch-free holiday season.
