— Family, Church Community Mourn a Life of Faith, Service, and Compassion

IBADAN, NIGERIA – The Christian community in Ibadan and beyond has been thrown into mourning following the passing of Senior Reverend Apostolic Mother Mrs. Oluwayemi Shoyoye (Nee Adeosun), a respected woman of faith and servant of God, who peacefully transitioned to glory in the early hours of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at her residence in Ibadan. She was aged 76.

A devout Christian leader known for her deep spirituality, humility, and boundless compassion, Snr. Rev. Mother Shoyoye dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity. Her ministry, characterized by fervent intercession and selfless acts of charity, impacted countless lives across generations. She was widely regarded as a matriarch of faith and a beacon of light within her community and church.

Speaking on behalf of the family, her son, Engr. Olatubosun Shoyoye (BDS), expressed deep sorrow at her passing, describing her as “a mother in a million whose prayers, love, and guidance shaped our lives.” He said:

“My mother’s exit feels like a part of my body has separated from me. She carried a heavy load of intercession for me until her last breath. She was a true philanthropist who always looked forward to caring for others. Our mother was a beacon of light, strength, and godly virtue. We will miss her deeply.”

The late Snr. Rev. Mother Shoyoye is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and many spiritual sons and daughters whose lives she touched through prayer, mentorship, and acts of service. Her family described her as “a pillar of faith who lived what she preached,” adding that her life remains a testimony to the power of faith, love, and humility.

Funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced in due course. In the meantime, the Shoyoye family has extended heartfelt appreciation to friends, the church community, and well-wishers for their prayers and support during this period of grief.

“Though we mourn her departure, we rejoice in the assurance that she rests in the bosom of the Lord she served faithfully all her life,” the family stated.

May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
