As the ancient Kemta community in Abeokuta, Ogun State marked its annual Kemta Day Celebration 2025, prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Alhaji Yisa Ismaila Adebayo Omoade, has extended warm goodwill messages to all sons and daughters of Kemta—both at home and in the diaspora—praising their resilience, cultural pride, and commitment to community growth.

In his message, Alhaji Omoade described Kemta Day as “a unifying festival that reminds the people of their shared heritage, collective strength, and the responsibility to uphold the legacy of their forebears.” He commended the leadership of Kemta, traditional institutions, youth groups, and development associations for sustaining the celebration and ensuring that the values of the community continue to thrive.

According to him, Kemta’s rich history within the Egba kingdom has always positioned it as a community known for peace, enterprise, and cultural sophistication. He emphasized that these traits must be preserved, especially at a time when communities across Nigeria are working toward enhanced cohesion and socio-economic stability.

Alhaji Omoade encouraged indigenes to continue supporting initiatives that foster development, education, security, and youth empowerment. He also reiterated the importance of unity, noting that progress is most certain when all stakeholders work together with a shared vision.

“Kemta is blessed with talented, resourceful, and hardworking people,” he said. “As we celebrate Kemta Day 2025, let us renew our commitment to building a stronger community. Let us continue to support one another and contribute meaningfully to the development of our homeland.”

The APC stalwart further commended the organizers of this year’s celebration for preserving cultural values through colorful displays, communal activities, and programmes that highlight the community’s heritage.

The 2025 edition of Kemta Day witnessed a vibrant turnout of traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, youth groups, and cultural enthusiasts. Highlights of the celebration included traditional performances, awards to distinguished indigenes, and discussions centered on community development.

Alhaji Yisa Ismaila Adebayo Omoade concluded his goodwill message by wishing every son and daughter of Kemta a prosperous celebration and a future filled with peace, unity, and sustainable progress.
