Hon. Rotimi Makinde Mourns Otunba Olalekan Ganiyu Zubair, Describes Him as a Rare Gem and Unforgettable Friend

The news of the sudden passing of Otunba Olalekan Ganiyu Zubair, fondly known as Ganzy, has sent waves of grief across communities, institutions, and networks of friends whose lives he touched with warmth, loyalty, and unwavering friendship.
Among those paying heartfelt tribute is Hon. Rotimi Makinde, Chairman of the Wazir Umar Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi Governing Council, Kebbi State, who described Zubair’s death as a painful and irreplaceable loss.
In an emotional message, Makinde noted that Ganzy’s presence at the Federal Polytechnic Offa, where he once made significant impact, left “an indelible mark on all who knew him.” He highlighted Zubair’s friendly disposition, strong values, and ability to bring people together, stating that his spirit “continues to echo in our hearts.”
Makinde recalled witnessing the overwhelming outpouring of love during the burial at Gudu, where more than a thousand mourners gathered to pay their last respects. He described the moment as “a powerful reminder that while the loss is real and painful, Ganzy’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.”
