CCM Celebrates Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, on 20 Glorious Years on the Throne and 82nd Birthday

The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM), a prominent socio-political and developmental group in Ogun Central District, has extended warm felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, Okukenu IV, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, as he marks two historic milestones — 20 years on the throne of his forefathers and his 82nd birthday anniversary.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of the Movement, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Big Champion, Akile Egbaland, CCM lauded the monarch’s exemplary leadership, wisdom, and contributions to the growth and unity of Egbaland and Ogun State at large.

Alhaji Elewide noted that under the reign of Oba Gbadebo, Egbaland has witnessed remarkable socio-economic and infrastructural development, while indigenes have enjoyed a renewed sense of pride and mentorship through the Alake’s fatherly guidance and visionary leadership.

“Kabiyesi’s reign has brought peace, progress, and prosperity to Egbaland. His wisdom, humility, and passion for development continue to inspire both the old and young generations. The Central Coordinate Movement is proud to celebrate a monarch whose reign symbolizes dignity, unity, and integrity,” Alhaji Elewide stated.

Beyond his public achievements, the revered monarch is also celebrated for his discipline and moral values. In a striking display of simplicity and loyalty rare among traditional rulers, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo remains the first and only Alake in Abeokuta’s history to have one wife throughout his reign. Married for over 50 years, Kabiyesi is known to share the same room and bed with his beloved queen, leaving many rooms in the palace unused — a reflection of his humility and devotion to family values.

The monarch’s 20-year reign has been marked by his commitment to cultural preservation, education, youth empowerment, and community development. His reign has also strengthened the bond between Egbaland and the broader Yoruba nation, while promoting peace and mutual respect among traditional rulers across Nigeria.

As the Alake celebrates these two remarkable milestones, tributes have continued to pour in from far and near, celebrating a man whose leadership has stood as a beacon of wisdom, peace, and progress.

Kabiyesi, igba odun, odun kan.
Long live the Alake of Egbaland!
Happy 82nd Birthday and 20th Coronation Anniversary to a true royal father of the Egba nation.
