OBAFEMI OWODE CONCERNED INDIGENES CALLS FOR RIGHT OF PLACE REPRESENTATION IN THE RED CHAMBER OF NASS

OGUN CENTRAL SENATORIAL ELECTION 2023

TIWAN TIWAN a Concerned Indigenous political group of OOLG today, Wednesday rounded off their 2022, 1st Recreation Summit, held at Ofada town amidst hope and courage in actualization of  their agitation for concession of the ogun central Senatorial seat to Obafemi owode Local Government.

In a communique issued at the end of the 2-day Recreation Summit and signed by the Coordinator, Hon Bisi Oyemade, the Group reflected on the past overriding chances against the indigenous interests of the Local government for elective positions by some political Lords in favour of candidates who indeed are alien to the cause of the land..
The communique briefed explicitly on the unchequered rounds of the unhealthy overriding emporium, with necessary takes at the House of Assembly basis, while, appealing tor a reserved concession of the Senatorial nomination of indigenous Obafemi Owode candidate for.the 2023 Ogun Central Senatorial seat.

The communique recounted how the Senatorial Candidate nominations and elections had gone  round all the Local Government areas of the Central Senatorial District but OBAFEMI Owode, expressing the fear one of the already benefitted Local Government area may be gaining a third and/or second chance, if care is not taken. This is because since the beginning of this 4th Republic in question, Abeokuta North Local Government area secured  the seat with Senator Ibikunle Amosun as the candidate and elected Senator who served from 2003-2007, thereby taking over from Senator Femi Okuronmu of Abeokuta South Local Government area who had served from 1999-2003. And between 2007-2011, Senator Iyabo  Obasanjo served on the slot of Ifo Local Government area, while Senator Obadara of Odeda Local Government area served from 2011-2015, and was succeeded by Senator Lanre Tejuoso again on the slot of Abeokuta North Local Government area who served between  2015-2019. And from 2019 Ewekoro Local Government has produced the sitting second term Senator Ibikunle Amosun to serve till 2023.

.In a nutshell, the Recreation Summit through the communique called for common supportive action of all the stakeholders in this direction, with their unified lobbying  efforts on party leaders in Central district, in particular and the state in general towards making this deserving dream a reality. Towards this end, the Recreation Summit had resolved to put a Contact Ad-,hoc Committee in place, comprising practising indigenous politicians as able hands to deliver the Local Government mandate.

It is therefore to say the least that Obafemi Owode now deserves its right of place come 2023 Senatorial primary and general elections in the state.Moreso, Obafemi Owode Local Government area never lacks in presentation of formidable candidates at elections in the good past, and shall never fail in running the tide at present same for the future.

We therefore, onec again appeal to HE Aremu Olusegun Osoba, Rt Hon. Tunji Egbetokun,Engr. Akeem Babatunde Adesina, Amb. Sina Ogunsola and other Apex leaders,  and political stakeholders in APC from OOLG to lobby other leaders of local governments under the senatorial district and beyond to ensure the actualization of this mandate.
