I would like to Go Back to the House of Reps if ... — Hon.Adesegun Adekoya a.k.a Attacker

The immediate past House of Reps Member representing Ogun waterside, Ijebu East and Ijebu North Federal Constituency of Ogun State,Hon.Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya has revealed his intention to return to the Federal House of Representatives if the environment is conducive.

   

Speaking to journalists recently at his Ago-Iwoye residence, the former lawmaker disclosed, "if the environment is conducive I would like to go back to the green chamber so that I can complete projects that I embarked upon but have now been abandoned in my constituency like the uncompleted hospital at Ako, the Ago-Iwoye Stadium, Orimolusi Palace, Buruji Kashamu Skill Acquisition Center, Imusin Ajina Shopping Complex and a host of others,if only to go back and complete those projects,I am willing to contest again ".

   

On the situation in his party, the People's Democratic Party in Ogun State,Hon.Adekoya expressed his delight that the crisis in the party at state level has been relatively settled unlike in the past when there was division within the party.

"Ogun State PDP is now relatively peaceful especially with the exit of the aggrieved members to another party.In the past huge amount of money was being spent on court cases, for example I spent 160 million Naira on litigation alone whereas APC the major opposition party spent less than 1 million Naira, you can imagine if such amount of money was spread to  all the wards in my federal constituency to mobilize people nothing would have stopped me from winning the election" Hon. Attaker revealed.

 

The pioneer Chairman of Kosofe Local Government,Lagos State saying that his political relevance and ascendance is never an aberration because he rose through the ranks in politics saying,"I was an elected Councillor in Shomolu Local Government,Lagos State,I was appointed as a Supervisor and later Vice Chairman in the same local government before I was elected as Local Government Chairman while in Ogun State I was Commissioner for eight years before I was elected as House of Reps Member ".

  

Reacting to his possible crossing to the ruling party,APC, Attacker who recently was honoured with the prestigious Chieftaincy title as the Bobasuwa of Ijebu Igbo by His Royal Majesty Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo in recognition of his contribution to grassroots development, declared,

"it has never crossed my mind to move to the APC because the party has not impressed the masses,there is hunger in the land,no good road while schools are not having enough teachers, the situation of paucity of teachers in the schools is so bad that influential individuals have to visit higher institutions like Olabisi Onabanjo University and Tai Solarin University's Faculties of Education to lobby for their students on teaching practice to come and teach in our schools".

  

On the 2027 election,Hon.Adekoya while disclosing that the presidential election would be based more on candidates than parties, revealed further that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should spread his appointments to all parts of Yorubaland,"out of every ten appointments, eight are coming from Lagos, the President should know that Lagos is not the only Yoruba State,"Attacker said.

   

Hon.Adekoya during whose tenure in the House of Reps projects were spread across all parts of the Federal Constituency he was representing like Imusin shopping complex, Imobi Town Hall, Ilodo Town Hall, Ogbe Bridge at Ijebu Ife,block of classrooms in towns within the constituency as well as laptop to some schools, roads projects in most of the towns in the  constituency,Ago Iwoye Stadium and provision of solar lights and poles to some towns, Iwopin and Ooni jetty to mention but a few, assured the people of the constituency that he hopes to use his established connection to do more for them "because the legislative chamber is more of a caucus thing if you are not connected you may not achieve much."
