In a heartwarming display of faith and community spirit, the Ewekoro Local Government Christian Staff Community gathered for their 4th Annual Carol Service at the Ewekoro Local Government Secretariat in Itori. The event, held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, was graced by the presence of Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa (Eskay), the Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, alongside other political functionaries and staff members.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and reverence as participants exchanged calvary greetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Hon. Adesina expressed his gratitude for the grace and mercies that have sustained the staff throughout the year. "It is not by our power nor our might that we are here today," he remarked, underscoring the importance of faith in overcoming life's challenges.
This year’s service held special significance for both the Executive Chairman and the staff, marking the fourth consecutive year of celebration under his leadership. Hon. Adesina reflected on the trials faced during the year but highlighted the triumphs made possible through faith. "It shows that the Lord is always on our side and for us," he said, inspiring the attendees to remain steadfast in their beliefs.
In his speech, Hon. Adesina urged Christian staff members to use the occasion as an opportunity to pray for the sustainability of Nigeria's democracy. He called for prayers for the state leadership, particularly for His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, and others at the helm of affairs.
The carol service, a traditional Christian worship event celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, was an opportunity for the community to come together and reflect on the teachings and lifestyle of Christ. Hon. Adesina encouraged attendees to emulate these values in their daily lives, fostering a culture of kindness and service within the local government.
In a positive note for the staff, Hon. Adesina announced that the administration is currently reviewing the *Christmas Bonus* for all members. He reassured them that the administration is committed to ensuring that staff members experience joy and satisfaction in their roles, stating, "This administration will always put smiles on the faces of our career staff."
As the event concluded, the atmosphere was filled with melodies of carols, laughter, and a sense of community. The Executive Chairman extended his heartfelt wishes for a Merry and Joyous Christmas celebration to all attendees, leaving them with a sense of hope and unity.
The 4th Annual Carol Service not only celebrated the spirit of Christmas but also reinforced the bonds within the Ewekoro Local Government community, reminding everyone of the importance of faith, prayer, and collective resilience in the face of challenges.
As the community looks forward to the New Year, the message of the day serves as a beacon of hope and encouragement, promising a brighter future for the Ewekoro Local Government and its dedicated staff.
